After an initial presentation, in a chronological order – from prehistoric times, through the Middle Ages and the Enlightenment, to the latest times – the long history of technology development, it shows in detail the most important engineering and scientific achievements of Poles between the 17th and 20th centuries.

The main collection is complemented by an exhibition devoted to the language of technology, without which a dialogue between generations of engineers and various fields of technology would be impossible, and which consists of mathematics, the evolution of tool construction, the development of technical drawing and the versatility of metrology.

The exhibition, covering almost 1.1 thousand square meters, has been built in a rich, narrative scenery that organizes the presented issues, stimulates the imagination and takes visitors into the world of technology that speaks in a clear, understandable language of knowledge and positive emotions.

It also reveals their interiors, showing the craftsmanship and ingenuity of the constructors. In the interactive zone there are educational stands, and in the entertainment zone – some of the most famous computer games of the early 1980s.

The two-part permanent exhibition “Sources of energy of civilization – the history of fossil fuels and Ignacy Łukasiewicz – the pioneer of the oil industry” is an exhibition presenting the process of extracting and processing raw materials, such as crude oil, hard coal or natural gas. The first part of the exhibition focuses on the history of energy sources and the presentation of their extraction techniques. The second part of the exhibition is a tribute to the great inventor Ignacy Łukasiewicz, referring to the 200th anniversary of his birth. The issues raised within this exhibition project are intertwined. It is impossible to tell the story of fossil fuels without the story of Ignacy Łukasiewicz. On the one hand, we have a story about a man with unquestionable merits in the field of oil mining – to the methods of exploration, extraction and finally processing of the raw material, and on the other hand, a huge range of topics related to the formation of high-energy raw materials, which are the backbone of the world’s energy industry.

The story we present begins in a very distant time, about 13.8 billion years ago, and ends in an era of real and painful energy problems. An era in which hope is given by the use of phenomena that had such a distant beginning. Man has always used the benefits of nature, observed his surroundings and nature to base his actions on it and start imitating it. This is where we should look for the source of our development, progress and learning.

The exhibition “History of transport – by sea, land and air” presents the global development of human mobility techniques, from the dawn of time to the present day. It consists of three independent parts, presenting the history of land and water transport and air. The main and largest part of the exhibition is entirely devoted to land transport. It presents the development of road construction from Roman times to the present day, as well as the vehicles that moved on them. The exhibition will include models and real exhibits of historic horse-drawn carriages, steam locomotives, bicycles and trams and cars. The history of water transport was presented in a similar way

and air. The whole is complemented by an interesting iconography with unique photos and rich text material, presented on touch screens.
