For visitors

We’re open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Last entry to the exhibitions is at 5:15 PM. The ticket desks and museum shop close at 5:45 PM.

Admission to the permanent exhibitions is free on Tuesdays. On free-admission days, you still need to pick up an entry pass at the ticket desks.

The museum has free self-service lockers for coats and bags. Please collect a locker key at the ticket desks before entering the exhibition and return it before leaving the museum.

Due to high temperatures during the summer season, please come prepared for your visit — bring water and wear light, breathable clothing. We encourage you to stay hydrated and pace your visit according to how you feel. The museum is housed in a historic building without air conditioning. Under the Museums Act, reduced tickets are available to: school pupils, university students and doctoral students, students of teacher training institutions and social service colleges, leaders of school and preschool groups, teachers and educators, people with disabilities and their carers, pensioners and retirees, people over 65, war veterans, and holders of the honorary titles and decorations “Za opiekę nad zabytkami” (For the Protection of Monuments), “Zasłużony działacz kultury” (Distinguished Cultural Activist), “Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej” (Distinguished Service to Polish Culture), and “Zasłużony dla Kultury Narodowej” (Distinguished Service to National Culture).

Guide services are paid separately. On free-admission days, the service costs 160 PLN. On all other days, admission tickets (based on group size and ticket type) are added to the base price.

We accept the WarsawPass and the Large Family Card (Karta Dużej Rodziny).

 

 

Guided Tour Reservations - Groups and Individuals

To book a visit to the National Museum of Technology, please contact the Visitor Services Department. Bookings are accepted by email only, at: rezerwacja@nmt.waw.pl Bookings are not accepted by phone.

Your booking request should include:

  • the date of the visit;
  • the type of visit: guided or self-guided, and the tour language;
  • the exact start time (on the hour) if you choose a guided tour;
  • the email address and phone number of the group leader or individual making the booking;
  • the number of people in the group;
  • the ticket type: standard, reduced, group, or family;
  • additional information: the group’s age range or profile, any special needs;
  • the name and address of the institution, if applicable;
  • invoice details, if applicable.

All details except the last two are required. Requests missing any of them will not be accepted. A booking is confirmed by a reply email sent from rezerwacja@nmt.waw.pl.

Payment is made by card or cash at the museum ticket desks on the day of the visit. If you need an invoice, let the staff know before making the payment. The ticket desks do not issue invoices with deferred payment.

Bookings must be made at least 14 days before the planned visit, but no more than 60 days in advance.

The maximum group size per guide is 30 people. Larger groups must be split into smaller ones and require booking additional guide services.

On the day of your guided tour, please:

  • arrive 10 minutes early;
  • check in at the ticket desks and collect the locker keys;
  • split into smaller groups (if necessary);
  • wait for your guide in the cloakroom area.

Practical Information

  • A guided tour of the exhibition takes around 60 minutes.
  • Last entry to the exhibitions is at 5:15 PM.
  • Visitors can use the self-service cloakroom and lockable lockers. Please leave backpacks, bags, and larger luggage in the cloakroom.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the exhibition areas.
  • Photography is permitted only without flash or additional lighting.
  • Toilets are located on the ground floor only.
  • The museum is equipped with portable wheelchair ramps, an exterior lift bypassing the entrance stairs, and an interior service lift that holds up to four wheelchairs at a time.
  • The museum has toilets adapted for people with a wide range of mobility impairments.
  • The museum features tactile floor markings and a tactile (tyflographic) map of the exhibition.
  • All information is available visually and in two languages.
  • Multimedia content is available in a version adapted for visitors with visual impairments (larger text and higher contrast).

Get Assistance

  • Ask the exhibition staff about anything you’d like to know.
  • If you need to use the lift, let the ticket desk staff know.
  • If you need the stair ramp, please report it at the ticket desks.
  • Lost or found items should be reported at the ticket desks.
